Shaker Oval Boxes

Handmade using the traditional Shaker box making methods. Each box is sawn from rough boards to 1/16" for the sides and 1/4" for the top and bottom. Then the sides are hand trimmed, steam-bent and fastened with copper tacks. The top and bottom is then fitted and attached with wooden pegs. Built in this way, the boxes can expand and contract with the seasons without danger of the wood cracking or separating. Available in traditional milk paint or cherry finish. Occasionally, other woods are also available such as sycamore and oak. Standard shaker sizes #1 - 5. Please call or e-mail for prices and to order.
